Engineered for the Gulf

A Finnish drawing does not survive a Dubai August unchanged

Every room we build is adjusted for the six things that break imported spa installations in the UAE. This is the difference between a sauna that smells of resin for a decade and one whose panels split in the second summer.

22 °C inside, 45 °C outsideVilla air at 20–30 % humidity shrinks timber. We use thermo-treated aspen and floating panel fixings that let boards move without cracking.
Tap water at 34 °CCold plunge chillers are sized for August inlet temperature and a 45 °C plant room, not a European datasheet. Insulated basins, shaded condensers.
DEWA and developer NOCsDedicated three-phase circuits, single-line diagrams and load calculations prepared for DEWA, ADDC or SEWA, plus the community NOC where the master developer requires it.
Sand and dustSealed heater compartments, filtered fresh-air intakes and salt rooms with their own air handling, because a halogenerator and open windows do not mix.
Thermal cyclingSteam rooms and hammams are waterproofed with a bonded membrane over cementitious tanking, with sloped ceilings and movement joints so condensation never finds the slab.
Marble that stays warmHammam slabs are heated evenly from below with the marble thickness, joints and edge insulation calculated, so the stone is warm to the touch and never cracks.
Modern hammam with heated marble slab and brass basins in a Dubai villa
Hammam

The room that becomes the social centre of the house

A hammam is the one spa room guests ask to see. We build them in three registers: a modern version with a heated slab and quiet brass, a Turkish version with a dome and carved marble basins, and a Moroccan version in tadelakt and zellige. All three run on a steam system sized for the room, with the heated stone kept at 38 to 42 °C.

  • Heated göbek taşı in cream travertine or book-matched marble
  • Membrane waterproofing tested for 48 hours before the stone goes down
  • Steam generator and slab heating on separate DEWA-approved circuits
Outdoor cold plunge pool on a shaded Dubai villa terrace at sunrise
Cold plunge

Six degrees in August, on a terrace in Dubai

The plunge is what turns a sauna into a recovery routine, and it is the room most often specified wrong here. We size the chiller for Gulf inlet temperatures, insulate the basin like a freezer and put the condenser in shade with real airflow. The result is a plunge that holds 5 to 8 °C through the summer at a running cost of a few dirhams a day.

  • Indoor stone basins or outdoor pool-type plunges with a plant room
  • Ozone and UV sanitation so the water is changed monthly, not weekly
  • Sequenced with the sauna door so the walk between hot and cold is three steps

FAQ

The questions every Dubai client asks first

How much does a sauna cost in Dubai?

A supplied-and-installed infrared cabin starts around AED 28,000. A custom-built indoor sauna for a villa runs AED 65,000 to 140,000 for two to four people, and AED 140,000 to 260,000 when it grows to six or eight seats with a glass wall. Outdoor pavilions and full wellness suites start at AED 180,000 and 350,000 respectively. Read the full price breakdown or see the pricing page.

Do I need DEWA approval for a home sauna or steam room?

For any heater or steam generator above roughly 4.5 kW, yes: a dedicated circuit is added to your DB board and a DEWA-registered consultant submits the load change. Most villas already have the spare capacity; apartments usually do not, which is why infrared cabins dominate there. We prepare the single-line diagram and load calculation as part of every project. How DEWA approval actually works →

How long does a custom sauna take from first visit to first session?

Eight to twelve weeks for a single custom sauna: two weeks of design and approvals, four to six weeks of manufacturing in our production workshops, one to two weeks of shipping and customs, and three to five days on site. Steam rooms and hammams take longer because of the wet works. The whole sequence is laid out on the process page.

Sauna, steam room or hammam: which suits a Dubai villa best?

A dry sauna is the cheapest to run and the easiest to retrofit. A steam room suits an existing tiled bathroom footprint and pairs naturally with a rain shower. A hammam is the most architectural of the three and the one that becomes the social room of the house. Many of our clients in Jumeirah and Emirates Hills end up with a sauna plus one wet room. Compare the three honestly →

Can a cold plunge actually stay cold in a Dubai summer?

Yes, if the chiller is sized for 35 °C incoming water and 45 °C plant-room air rather than a European spec sheet. A properly specified 1.5 to 2 HP chiller with an insulated basin holds 5 to 8 °C in August at a running cost of a few dirhams a day. Chiller sizing for the Gulf →

Can I put a sauna in a Dubai apartment?

Usually yes, with two conditions: the building management issues an NOC, and the heater fits the apartment supply. A 1.7 to 2.4 kW infrared cabin needs no new circuit and satisfies most towers in the Marina and Downtown. A traditional heater is possible in some penthouses with three-phase supply. Apartment saunas, explained →

Which areas do you cover?

All of Dubai, plus Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. We have community-specific pages for Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, Dubai Hills Estate, Jumeirah, Al Barari, Downtown, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Site visits are free everywhere we work.

Can I build a sauna myself?

Part of it, honestly. Framing, insulation, vapour barrier and cladding are within reach of a careful DIYer with a garage and a mitre saw. The heater circuit, the DEWA submission and the glass are not. We wrote a straight guide on what is realistic, and we offer a free consultation for self-builders. The honest DIY sauna guide →

What warranty comes with a Sauna Dubai project?

Two years on our workmanship and waterproofing, plus the manufacturer warranty on heaters and generators, which is two to five years depending on brand. Every project ends with a commissioning session where we run the room with you and hand over the service schedule. Details are on the process page.
