A hyperbaric oxygen cabin in a Dubai home costs AED 95,000 to 650,000 installed and takes six to twelve weeks, depending on whether you want a soft-shell single chamber at 1.3 to 1.5 ATA, a certified hard-shell chamber or a walk-in lounge cabin for two to four people. It is the room that has moved fastest from clinic to villa in the last three years, and the one where equipment choice, ventilation and service matter more than finishes. What a hyperbaric cabin does, and the line we draw
Inside a pressurised chamber breathing concentrated oxygen, more oxygen dissolves into the blood plasma than at normal pressure. Athletes use it for recovery, clinics for a range of protocols, and a growing number of Dubai families for general wellness sessions of sixty to ninety minutes.
We install and service the equipment; we do not prescribe it. Medical hyperbaric oxygen therapy for diagnosed conditions is done in hospitals at higher pressures under a physician. A home or wellness cabin at 1.3 to 2.0 ATA is a wellness device, and anyone planning regular sessions should discuss it with their doctor first. Every installation includes a medical-grade oxygen concentrator sized for the chamber, the room ventilation to keep oxygen concentration in the room itself at normal levels, a dedicated circuit with an isolator, delivery and positioning, commissioning, training for the household or staff, the manufacturer warranty and the first year of service.
Why the room matters as much as the chamber
Oxygen equipment in a closed villa room needs three things done properly:
- Ventilation. The chamber exhausts oxygen-enriched air on every depressurisation. The room needs a mechanical extract to outside and a fresh-air supply, so the room’s oxygen concentration never rises above ambient. We size and install it.
- No ignition sources and the right materials. No open flames, no oil-based products in the chamber, spark-safe electrical fittings, and a room finish that does not shed fibres into the concentrator intake. The cabin does not belong beside the sauna heater; it belongs on the cool, dry side of the suite with the salt room.
- Structure and access. A hard-shell lounge cabin weighs 900 to 1,800 kg and arrives in one or two pieces. Basement access, door widths and slab loading are checked at the site visit; in villas under construction in Dubai Hills or Tilal Al Ghaf we mark the route on the builder’s drawings.
Equipment we specify
Chambers with pressure-vessel certification, safety relief valves, an internal and external pressure gauge, two-way communication and an emergency depressurisation control, from manufacturers whose spare parts and technicians reach Dubai within days. Oxygen from a concentrator, not from cylinders, so there is nothing to refill or store. Controls with session timers and pressure ramps that a family member can operate after training. We do not install unbranded chambers from marketplaces, and we say why on the about page.
Power and approvals
A soft-shell chamber and its concentrator draw under 2 kW on a standard circuit. A hard-shell lounge cabin with a compressor and concentrator draws 4 to 7 kW and gets a dedicated circuit, which is included in the electrical submission when the cabin is part of a villa wellness suite with a sauna or a plunge; the paperwork is described on the DEWA approval page. Clinics in Dubai Healthcare City, Jumeirah and Al Reem need the equipment documentation for their licensing, which we supply with every installation.
Where clients put it
In Emirates Hills and Palm Jumeirah suites the lounge cabin sits in a recovery wing with the salt room and a relaxation lounge, away from the wet rooms. In Downtown and Marina penthouses a soft-shell chamber goes in a spare bedroom with a ventilated window and a standard socket. In clinics and gyms in Business Bay and Abu Dhabi the walk-in cabin becomes the signature room, with sessions sold in packages; the commercial spa page and the hotel spa ROI article cover the business side.
Service, safety checks and training
Every installation ends with a training session for the people who will operate the chamber: pre-session checks, pressurisation and depressurisation, what to do about ear pressure, and the emergency controls. The annual service checks seals, valves, gauges, the concentrator output and the room ventilation, and is part of the maintenance plan. Soft-shell chambers have their zips and seals inspected every six months.
Six to twelve weeks
One to two weeks for the room design and ventilation, three to eight weeks for the chamber and concentrator, one week on site for ventilation, electrical work, positioning, commissioning and training. Payment and the full step list are on the process page.
