A home hyperbaric oxygen chamber in Dubai costs AED 95,000 to 140,000 for a soft-shell single chamber, AED 140,000 to 280,000 for a certified hard-shell chamber and AED 320,000 to 650,000 for a walk-in lounge cabin for two to four people, installed with an oxygen concentrator, room ventilation and training. It is the room that has moved fastest from clinic to villa, and the one where the buyer most needs a plain explanation of pressures, safety and what the evidence does and does not support. What happens in the chamber
Air pressure inside the chamber is raised above atmospheric, and the user breathes oxygen at a higher concentration than room air, usually through a mask fed by a concentrator. At higher pressure more oxygen dissolves into the blood plasma, which is the mechanism behind medical hyperbaric treatment. Sessions last sixty to ninety minutes; the user reads, listens or sleeps, and equalises ear pressure during pressurisation as on an aircraft.
Medical HBOT and wellness chambers are different things
Hospital hyperbaric oxygen therapy treats a defined list of conditions at 2.0 to 3.0 ATA, with a physician, in a certified medical chamber. Home and wellness chambers run at 1.3 to 2.0 ATA. Athletes and clinics use them for recovery; a growing number of Dubai families use them for general wellness. Evidence for the wellness uses is developing and mixed, and we say so. We install and service the equipment; whether it is appropriate for you is a conversation with your doctor, particularly for anyone with a lung condition, ear or sinus problems, or who is pregnant. Soft-shell chambers are the apartment and spare-bedroom answer: light, quiet, on a standard circuit. Hard-shell single chambers are the choice for daily users who want higher pressure and a rigid door. Lounge cabins are for families and clinics: two to four people sit together, which changes the session from a solitary hour to a shared one.
The equipment we install, and what we refuse
Pressure-vessel certification, a safety relief valve, internal and external gauges, two-way communication, an emergency depressurisation control operable from inside, and a manufacturer with technicians and parts reachable in Dubai. Oxygen from a medical-grade concentrator sized for the chamber, never from cylinders. We do not install unbranded chambers from marketplaces, because a pressure vessel without certification in a family home is not a saving.
The room: ventilation, materials, structure
Every depressurisation exhausts oxygen-enriched air into the room. The room needs a mechanical extract to outside and a fresh-air supply so oxygen concentration in the room stays at ambient; we size and install it. No open flames, no oil-based products inside the chamber, spark-safe fittings, no fabrics that shed into the concentrator intake. Hard-shell cabins need a slab check and a delivery route; in villas under construction in Dubai Hills or Tilal Al Ghaf we mark it on the builder’s drawings, and in Emirates Hills basements the cabin often arrives before the staircase is closed in. Power and approvals
A soft-shell chamber and concentrator draw under 2 kW on a standard circuit. A lounge cabin with a compressor draws 4 to 7 kW and gets a dedicated circuit, included in the DEWA submission when the cabin is part of a suite with a heater or a plunge, as described on the DEWA approval page. Clinics need the equipment documentation for their licence; we supply it with every installation.
Sessions, protocol and training
Sixty to ninety minutes, with a slow pressurisation and equalisation, a plateau at pressure breathing through the mask, and a slow depressurisation. Users are trained at commissioning on pre-session checks, ear equalisation, the intercom and the emergency controls, and the first session is run with our technician present. Wellness users commonly do blocks of three to five sessions a week; frequency and duration are decisions for the user and their physician. Athletes often combine it with a heat-and-cold routine, described in the contrast therapy protocol.
Service
Seals, valves, gauges and the concentrator output are checked at the annual service under the maintenance plan; soft-shell zips and seals every six months. Manufacturer warranty on the chamber, our warranty on the installation and ventilation.
